The Big Lemon operates Service 52 on a contract with Brighton & Hove City Council. The service operates Monday to Saturday between Woodingdean and the Royal Sussex County Hospital via Ovingdean and Brighton Marina. In the morning and evening peak route 52 also serves Old Steine and Brighton Station. CitySaver tickets bought on the 52 are valid on all connecting bus services, and we also accept CitySaver tickets issued by other bus companies. (For services from Ovingdean to the city centre between 9am and 5pm please see Route 57)
Changes to Route 52:
Following the recent announcement by Brighton & Hove City Council regarding supported bus services there have been changes to Service 52 that came into effect on Monday 18 September. We apologise for the short notice of these changes; any enquiries about this should be directed to Brighton & Hove City Council on 01273 292480.
The good news is that the changes will, we believe, ultimately improve services for residents in Ovingdean, Woodingdean and Rottingdean by increasing the frequency of services to the Marina and the Hospital, creating new links between Ovingdean and Rottingdean Mondays to Saturdays (with Route 57) and adding an extra journey from Brighton Station in the evenings.
