Bus Services in Bath

The Big Lemon runs one service in Bath, route 20 between the University, Bath City Centre, the Royal United Hospital, and Twerton. See below for the route, timetable, and fare table, and click on the yellow button to see where the buses are in real-time.

Route 20: University – Twerton

The service is currently being run with diesel buses to begin with, but the plan is to transition to electric over the next year, powered by renewable energy and owned by the community.

Up until 1 April 2023 we also ran the 11 and 12 services, these are now operated by Faresaver. Click here for information. We would like to thank our passengers for travelling with us, it has been a real pleasure getting to you know and we hope to see you again one day!

West of England Bus Passenger Charter

The Big Lemon is delighted to announce that we are now signatories to the West of England Bus Passenger Charter.

This is a collaborative framework established under the Transport Act 2000. Its main purpose is to improve bus services in the West of England region by defining obligations and standards for local authorities and bus operators. This includes provisions for facilities, operational requirements, and governance arrangements, aiming to enhance the overall efficiency, reliability, and quality of the public transport system in the region.

If you’re interested and would like to know more about it, here is the link to the charter: https://thebiglemon.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/West-of-England-EP-Scheme-V4.0-September-2023-updated.pdf

Bus Drivers Wanted!

We’re recruiting!

The Big Lemon is looking for qualified PSV drivers to drive route 20, as well as all our Bristol route 515 and other local services.

As well as excellent rates of pay, a welcome bonus and free membership of the Transport Benevolent Fund, we offer the opportunity to work in a small family team where everyone is a name, not a number; and we all work together to do our best for our colleagues and for the community.

If this sounds like something you’d like more info on, please fill in the form below 🙂
