From 31 August 2025 the Y8 Yate Link is now running a circular service both clockwise and anti-clockwise between Yate and Wotton-under-Edge serving Horton, Hawkesbury Upton, Hillesley, Alderley, Wortley, Kingswood, KLB School, Charfield, Cromhall, Wickwar, Chipping Sodbury, Yate Railway Station and Yate Shopping Centre.

We’re very grateful to local campaigners, community organisations, the West of England Rural Network, parish councils, local councillors, MPs, the Mayor of the West of England and the WESTlocal team who have made this possible.

Y8 update 5th January 2026

Owing to a road closure we will not be able to service Wickwar between 20:00 today 5th January and 06:00 Thursday 8th January 2026.

Buses from Yate via Charfield and from Wotton via Charfield will also not be able to service Chipping Sodbury. Buses going the other way around the loop will service Chipping Sodbury as normal.

All diverted journeys will operate via the B4058 through Rangeworthy and Bagstone.
