Sunday Walks

Sunday Walks are back!

Welcome to The Big Lemon’s Sunday Walks programme for 2022

Every few weeks we take the bus out into the countryside on a Sunday, walk at a leisurely pace for about 3-4 hours taking in the scenery and finish for lunch at a nice old country pub.

Walks are between 5-7 miles long and aim to provide good exercise in beautiful country surroundings without being too strenuous, though some walks are quite hilly.

They are suitable for all ages from about 6 onwards, though younger ones are also welcome if you don’t mind carrying them part of the way!

All buses leave Old Steine (South) Stop S, Brighton at 10am and return about 4 – 4.30pm.

Sunday 6 November – Cancelled

Due to the weather this walk has been cancelled, we will reschedule it when the weather is better!

 Some feedback from previous walks:

Went on the Washington to Bramber via Chanctonbury Ring walk which was my first trip on the Big Lemon Bus! What a fantastic day out. Really enjoyed the walk with such lovely people.  The walks always end in a country pub so you can have a drink or some food when you’ve finished. Would highly recommend the next walk to anyone who enjoys being out in the countryside. Thanks again for a wonderful day.

This summer I discovered the Big Lemon bus walks. I went on the last 4 and have loved every one. It’s always a really nice/friendly bunch of people and I’ve made new friends. The length of walks have been perfect for me too – around 8 miles with a pub at the end πŸ™‚ Thanks to the lovely folks at Big Lemon for organising this. Looking forward to next year’s walks!

    1. Hi Anna

Thanks for this! Sadly the October walk was our last one for the season but we’ll be running them next year too! April – October, we’ll post the program up on this page in the new year πŸ™‚

        Hi Sue

The walk is about 9 miles this time, but we don’t rush, you can go at the pace you need to.

        Hope you can make it.

        Best wishes

Hi! Do I need to book a Sunday walk or just turn up? As I live over in Worthing there may be some Sundays when it is ‘spur of the moment’ but don’t want to go all that way to find I can’t join cos full up! Looking forward to trying some of the walks this year.

We’ve saved the date i.e April 2nd any idea where the walk will be? Not too strenuou for the first of the season! Shared mates rates last year, what a good deal.

  3. The walks are excellent, well organised, very sociable, and extremely good value from a transportation – and less toll on the environment. Looking forward to first Big Lemon Walk of the season this Sunday.

My biggest regret of this year is that I only did one Sunday walk . next year the diary works around Big Lemon dates!!!
